Square brackets become fill-in fields. [SOURCE LANGUAGE] and [TARGET LANGUAGE] fill in automatically from the language bar.
Click Copy, go to your chatbot, and paste with Ctrl V. Click the title of a prompt to read it first, or rest the mouse on the title for a preview.
Anything like [TOPIC] is a blank you fill in. Click Fill in and copy, type your answer, and the finished prompt goes to the clipboard. Tick the box in that dialog to save an answer you use often.
The two menus at the top set the languages. Every prompt picks them up, so switching to French turns every prompt into a French prompt. Settings lets you add languages that are not in the menus, such as a regional variety. The arrow button swaps them.
Translation and Interpreting hold the prompts from your prompt packs. Follow-ups are short prompts you send after a first answer, to narrow it, reformat it, or question it. Favorites holds anything you star. My prompts holds what you write.
A prompt pack is a file of ready-made prompts. Click Import prompts or a pack, choose the file, and its prompts join your list. Importing a newer version of the same pack updates it in place and keeps your favorites. Settings lists your packs and removes any you no longer want.
Each pack also gets its own entry under Packs in the list of collections, and its name appears on every card from that pack as a tag: click the tag to see only that pack. Search finds pack names too.
Click New prompt, or open one from a pack and click Copy to mine to adapt it. Use square brackets for anything you want to fill in each time.
Drag the dots at the left of a card to move it. You can also click the dots and press the up or down arrow. Your order is kept, and Settings puts the original order back.
Click Hide to take a prompt out of your list. It waits in the Hidden collection, where Unhide returns it.
/ jumps to search. Enter in the search box copies the first result. Esc clears the search or closes a dialog.
Opens a small window that stays above your other windows, which is useful next to a chatbot. Keep the big window open behind it, minimized or pinned, because closing it closes the small one. In the floating window, Minimize shrinks it to a small badge; click the badge to open it again.
In Chrome or Edge, click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, and Prompt Desk opens in its own window and works offline. On iPhone or iPad, use Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Your key unlocks Prompt Desk on the browsers you use. It is checked quietly about once a week, and the app keeps working offline in between. Please do not share your key.
On this computer, in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere. Use Export my prompts to save the prompts you wrote, and import that file on another computer. Import your packs there too.
